Hollywood Park Redevelopment Still In Limbo

In their latest meeting, Inglewood Council members were still undecided as to the fate of the Hollywood Park Racetrack. A decision has now been postponed until next week at the earliest, following 6 hours of debate.

At this weeks meeting, Jack Van Berg and John Shirreffs were the only people of note who spoke during Public Comments. Jerry Moss, who was also in attendance, chose not to speak.

I think it’s significant that the developer is the same one that has reduced Bay Meadows to a piles of rubble with that development project delayed indefinitely. The developer claimed that the hold ups were completely beyond his control, blaming the situation on lawsuits from equine interests.

Incidentally, 2009 is Hollywood Park’s 71st Anniversary.
