Horse Racing Partnerships in Current Economic Times

I was recently wondering how the current economic crisis might be affecting horse racing partnerships so I spoke with a couple of people working to administer such entities. Both were surprisingly upbeat.

They did admit however that the inquiries they are receiving are shifting from people completely new to race horse ownership to people who had held a 100% stake in the past. Rather than depart from ownership entirely they were now exploring the alternative of moving into a partnership.

I found this to be extremely interesting. Clearly these people had found owning a racehorse to be sufficiently addictive to seek alternatives in less affluent times.

Their trend could also be very beneficial to the partnerships themselves because when (hopefully) the economy picks up and these folk find themselves with additional expendable funds once more, rather than revert back to sole ownership in a single horse, they may very well decide to invest in additional partnership horses.
