Blue Exit Fatally Injured

Blue Exit, who was runner-up to Cowboy Cal in the Grade 2 Strub Stakes at Santa Anita on February 7, was (in my opinion) pick of the paddock before yesterday’s $1 million Santa Anita Handicap. Bet down to 6-1, Blue Exit was pulled up by jockey Robby Albarado on the turn for home. He had broken his right front cannon bone. He was vanned off but had to be euthanized. My condolences go out to Jerry Hollendorfer and his owners, The Blue Exit Partnership.
