Dogwood Stable Expecting Good Things of Bricklayer

Bricklayer (El Corredor) has drawn post seven in a field of eight for Sunday’s $150,000 Victoria Stakes at Woodbine. Carded as the 6th race, the five furlong Victoria Stakes has a post time of 3:27.

Dogwood Stable President Cot Campbell had the following update on the colt: “Bricklayer arrived in Canada at about 5:30 AM Friday morning. He is settled in the stakes barn, and ready to do his number in the Victoria Stakes. He’ll walk some Friday afternoon and the vet will check him out at 3:00 PM. His jockey Chantal Sutherland (currently the second leading rider at Woodbine) will gallop him Saturday morning and he will school later that afternoon in the paddock. At this point, all systems are go and he’s coming into the race in good form.”

Bricklayer broke his maiden at first asking at Aqueduct on April 23. He is trained by Frank Alexander.
