Keen Lassie Victorious At Suffolk Downs

Prime Equine Racing, T. Kurguz, and J. Riccardi’s Keen Lassie took command at the top of the stretch, then turned back the bid of Boracay Princess to win by a length and three quarters last Sunday at Suffolk Downs.

Under a flawless ride by Clifford Dooley, Keen Lassie broke alertly and settled into stride, moving to the rail as the field went around the first turn. Down the backstretch, Dooley and Keen Lassie began to make their move, easing off the rail three wide, picking off the leaders and putting a nose in front at the top of the stretch. Keen Lassie shook off the bids of Boracay Princess and Love Gem, surging clear in the final sixteenth of a mile.

Keen Lassie covered the about a mile and a sixteenth distance over the turf course rated firm in 1:49 1/5. Keen Lassie’s next scheduled race will be on September 3rd at Suffolk Downs.
