News Item From American Classic Thoroughbreds
American Classic Thoroughbreds’ Banjo Gold: Wednesday night’s race was very special for everyone and was something of a success. The weather was fine and the racing partners turn out was also great. It was nice to see a group of people get together having a good time while anticipating Banjo’s first race later that night. Banjo entered the paddock cool as a cucumber and looking beautiful. Two other horses, the #9 and #6 acted up close to Banjo but it didn’t bother him at all.
He was saddled and jockey Thomas Clifton thrown up and rode him out to the track. He jogging by himself over to the starting gate. Within a few minutes they were loaded into the gate and away they went. Banjo broke a step slowly an d veered a little to the right, but fortunately didn’t cause interference to any other horses.
As the raced progressed the #11 took to the lead cutting some pretty fast fractions going 22 for the ¼ and 45 at the ½ finishing the race in 1:11 and change. Banjo came out the race in good shape while hopefully taking with him some much needed race experience.
All said Banjo didn’t win or place but he finished the race living to fight another day. Hopefully in 2 to 4 weeks he will be back in the thick of things, racing and improving off his last effort .
