Northern Afleet Filly Racing Partnerships Offered

Grevelis Racing Stable LLC reports that they have been offered the opportunity to buy into a 2-year old Kentucky-bred filly for sale privately in Northern California. What’s nice, they tell me, is that they do not have to buy all of her as she is being sold in 10% increments up to 70%.

Her name is Miss Stella Blues and her original Purchase Price was $38,000 at the March Ocala Breeder’s Sale. She is by Northern Afleet out of the Silver Ghost mare Mississippi Blues. Her race record is : 1 start 1-0-0 with earnings of $14,400.

Her maiden breaking win was a 2 furlong Maiden Special Weight at Golden Gate Fields in which she outbroke and simply outran the competition. She led from gate to wire and finished with a time of 21 2/5.

Stella was scheduled to make her next start in a stakes race at Pleasanton, when a bone chip was discovered. By all accounts the chip was removed successfully and she is currently rehabbing on the farm. She’s scheduled to go back to the track in a couple of months with her first start back looking to be around the first of the year.

She’s being offered up at a significant discount given her potential and all the training that has gone into her, because her 80% owner is in a bit of a bind. Her trainer, Armando Lage, said she could have continued to run successfully with the chip, but it was decided to remove it because of the potential she has shown, then rest her up for a three year old campaign.

Full 10% shares are $3,000. Grevelis Racing would consider partial shares in order to pull together enough folks to buy 10 – 20% of her. Bills would be invoiced monthly based upon percentage owned. For example, if you are in for $300 (1% of the horse) and the training, vet and and other expenses come in at $3000 for the month, you will be invoiced $30 and so on the more you own.
