Spruce Creek Thoroughbreds, an Upcoming Partnership

Hook and Ladder filly foalA brand new thoroughbred horse racing partnership is about to be formed under the name of Spruce Creek Thoroughbreds, LLC. The Managing Partner will be Joe Volpe.

The partnership’s first thoroughbred is a delightful filly, foaled this year (2008), by Hook and Ladder, out of Ausable, by Comet Shine. Her picture is on the left.

The sire, Hook and Ladder (1997) was New York’s leading freshman stallion in 2008 and leading second crop sire in 2008. He is the 2008 National Top Five 2nd Crop Sire Click Here for full details.

The as yest unnamed filly is the third foal of her dam. She is currently located in Ocala, Florida at the farm of agent Patrick Hoppel.

10% shares in this filly are being offered at $5,000. Joe Volpe plans to sell 9 shares, while retaining one 10% share for himself. All decisions regarding the filly will be by a majority ruling. Choosing a name for the filly will also be a group decision, as will design and selection of the partnership’s racing colors.

The filly will begin her racing career in 2010 as a two year old. Her trainer will be Linda Rice.
