Thoroughbred Syndicate In Gloucester, VA

Can anyone offer a little insight on how difficult it is to create a racing syndicate or partnership for thoroughbred racing? I have been putting a ton of thought and research into a proposal to develop a syndicate or partnership, but I’m not sure if I’ve covered everything.

I have a firm grasp on all of the business requirements (like legal entities, licensure, claiming procedures and costs), but what I lack is horseman knowledge (like training, boarding and vet costs).

Can anyone point me in the right direction to where I can learn more about this or share some of your experiences if you are/were in a racing syndicate or partnership? How was experience with the partnership? Was it run well? Did it meet your expectations? Did you have any say or part in the selection, training, racing of the horse? Any information would be appreciated.

    Hi
I am actively pursuing a purchase of a farm property right near Keeneland, in Lexington, KY, with a trainer partner, to start up a training center. At this time, he trains for Steve Cauthen, but wants to have something of his own, as I do…Would you be interested in knowing about what we are working on getting? We can definately use another partner, as we lost a good friend and potential partner who is a major exporter of race horses to Venezuela, due to the craziness of Pres Chavez…he cannot make a move anymore, due to his country´s instability…So my other trainer partner and myself are carrying on as best we can without his participation, tho it is limiting…
