West Point Thoroughbreds on the Board on Opening Day

West Point Thoroughbres' El Gato MaloEl Gato Malo, gave West Point Thoroughbreds a third place finish in the Sir Beaufort Stakes for three years olds over one mile on opening day at Santa Anita. El Gato Malo, trained by Craig Dolase and ridden by Rafael Bejarano ran four wide into the first turn, and remained four wide throughout the race. He was beaten for second place by just a head. This nice colt has now won just a little short of half a million dollars for his West Point Thoroughbred partners.
